Buda is a little different from the other towns we cater. It is the one place we show up every single week, because the Budaful Farmers Market runs on Sundays at the City Park pavilion and we bake there. That means a lot of Buda neighbors have already tasted our pizza before they ever think about hiring us.
This page is for anyone searching for pizza catering in Buda, TX. It covers what we cater, the places people usually host events here, what it costs, how to plan the timeline, and what to check with the city and Hays County before you book. If you are planning a birthday, a wedding, a team lunch or a neighborhood party, you will find something useful below.
Big Nick’s Bakes Pizzeria is based in Austin. We bring a wood-fired oven to your event and bake Neapolitan pizza while your guests watch. See our full pizza catering in Austin, TX service, or learn how mobile pizza catering works.
Meet Us in Buda First
You do not have to take our word for it. Come to the Budaful Farmers Market any Sunday between 10 am and 2 pm. The market uses the pavilion at Buda City Park, 204 San Antonio St, under an agreement with the city. Our oven is there, the pizza is baked while you wait, and you can talk to the person who will actually cook at your event.
Tasting first is the easiest way to decide. You will see the crust, the char and the size of a real Neapolitan pizza, and you will know if it suits your guests. Many people tell us they came for a slice and left with a date on the calendar.

Backyards & birthdays
Backyard parties and birthdays
Buda has plenty of neighborhoods with big yards, which makes a backyard birthday, graduation or family get-together easy to host. Our small private party package starts at $500 for 10 to 25 guests, and the mid-size package starts at $750 for up to 35 guests. Both include 2 hours of service, four signature pizzas, setup and cleanup.
For kids, cheese and pepperoni go first. We can cut slices smaller for little hands, and we suggest keeping children a few feet back from the oven. See private party and birthday pizza catering for more.
Weddings
Weddings near Buda
Buda sits at the edge of the Hill Country, and many couples here plan barn, ranch and backyard weddings. Wedding pizza catering starts at $1,500 for up to 50 guests, with 3 hours of service and an expanded menu. Extra guests are $24 each, and extra time is $150 to $250 per hour.
Pizza works well as a cocktail hour bite, the main meal, or a late-night snack. Read wedding pizza catering for timelines and serving tips, and if your venue is further west, see Dripping Springs.
Company events
Company lunches and team events
Buda businesses, from shops on Main Street to offices along I-35, can book a corporate lunch that starts at $1,200 for up to 50 guests, with unlimited Neapolitan pizza for 2 hours. Tell us when your break starts and ends, and we plan the baking in rounds so everyone is served inside that window.
Details are on our corporate pizza catering page.
Community events
Community, school and neighborhood events
Buda likes a gathering. City Park hosts events through the year, such as the Wiener Dog Races and Fajita Fiesta, and neighborhoods, schools and clubs hold their own fundraisers and block parties. If you are organizing one, talk to us early. Events open to the public have extra rules, which we explain in the rules section below.
Our oven travels, so you can read how it works on the mobile pizza catering page.
Where Buda Events Happen
If you are not hosting at home, these are some common spaces in Buda. Rental rules, fees and availability change, so confirm details with Buda Parks and Recreation before you plan around any of them, and ask whether a caterer with an oven is allowed.
Buda City Park
At 204 San Antonio St. It is the city’s only regional park, with an amphitheater, a pavilion, a splash pad, two playgrounds, restrooms and a games and grilling area. Materials from the city describe a covered pavilion that holds over 500 people. The Budaful market uses the pavilion on Sundays, so check availability.
Buda Sportsplex
At 310 Buda Sportsplex Dr. A 52-acre park with a long trail system, a large playground and open parkland, plus a pavilion. A good fit for a big family gathering that needs room to spread out.
Green Meadows Pavilion
One of the newer city pavilions, opened after the 2021 city bond and available for residents to rent. Check the city’s rules on who can rent it.
Stoneridge Park
At 1131 Stone Rim Loop. A five-acre neighborhood park with a covered pavilion, playground and recreation field. Better for smaller groups.

Rules, Safety and Weather for Buda Events
Food vendor rules in the City of Buda
Buda regulates mobile food vendors through a permit process that covers things like commissary access, utilities, location, hours and signage, and the city council has been reviewing its vendor rules. A private party at a home usually raises fewer questions than an event on public property or one open to the public. If your event is in a city park or open to the public, ask the City of Buda what applies and tell us early. Community Impact has reported on the city’s approach. This is general information, not legal advice.
Burn bans in Hays County
Buda is in Hays County, where the Commissioners Court can order a burn ban during dry weather, and past orders have treated cooking fires differently. Check the current status with the Hays County Fire Marshal before your event, and tell us your date and address so we can plan together.
HOA and neighborhood rules
Many Buda neighborhoods have an HOA. Some limit outside vendors, open flames or street parking for large vehicles. Ask your HOA early and send us anything in writing.
Heat, wind and storms
Central Texas summers are hot, and spring storms can arrive fast. A shaded setup helps the cook and your guests, and a covered backup spot such as a patio, tent or pavilion makes a rainy day easier. Tell us about it when you book.
Allergies and diet needs
Our pizza is made with wheat dough and cheese, so it contains wheat and milk. Tell us about any allergies when you book. For general guidance, see the FDA guide to food allergies. Our Margherita, Cheese and White Mushroom pizzas are vegetarian.
Three Ways to Feed a Crowd in Buda
Most hosts weigh a few options. Here is an honest comparison, so you can pick what fits your event and budget.
Chain pizza delivery
Quick and familiar, with a minimum order, a delivery fee and a lead time. The pizza is baked elsewhere and arrives in boxes. Good for a casual lunch with little setup.
Local restaurant catering
Trays of food from a Buda restaurant, usually delivered or picked up. Good if you want a wider menu than pizza. Price and timing vary by restaurant.
On-site wood-fired pizza
The oven comes to your event and bakes while guests are there. Hot pizza, a fun show and a clear package price. Needs a flat outdoor spot and some planning.
