Meet the Team
Nick Monte
OwnerNick has more than ten years of restaurant, catering and bakery experience. During the COVID pandemic he taught himself pizza dough, testing methods and learning what it takes to make great pizza from scratch. Later work in bakeries deepened his understanding of fermentation, dough development and quality ingredients.
He started Big Nick’s Bakes Pizzeria to bring authentic Neapolitan pizza to the Austin community. Every dough ball is handcrafted, every pizza is baked fresh, and Nick loves serving everyone from farmers market regulars to wedding guests.
Mike Martinez
Head ChefMike brings more than 20 years of culinary experience, from high-end restaurants to startup kitchens across the country. His grandmother’s home cooking sparked his belief that good food brings people together.
At Big Nick’s he blends classic pizza traditions with creative flavors to build a menu that is both authentic and memorable, whether he is serving a farmers market line or a wedding reception.

Where does Big Nick’s Bakes Pizzeria cater?
We cater in Austin, Dripping Springs, Round Rock, Cedar Park, Georgetown and Buda, plus nearby areas. If your town is not listed, ask us and we will tell you if we can come.
Is there a travel fee?
Travel fees may apply depending on how far we drive. Send us your event address and we will include any fee in your quote.
Where can I try your pizza before I book?
Come see us at the Dripping Springs Farmers Market on Wednesdays from 3 to 6 pm, the Barton Creek Farmers Market on Saturdays from 9 am to 1 pm, or the Budaful Farmers Market in Buda on Sundays from 10 am to 2 pm. Markets can change hours or close for bad weather, so check the market’s page or our Instagram first.
How much does pizza catering cost?
Private parties start at $500 for 10 to 25 guests. Corporate lunches start at $1,200 for up to 50 guests. Weddings start at $1,500 for up to 50 guests. Extra guests, extra service time and travel can add to the total, and your quote will list everything.
How far ahead should I book?
Book as soon as you have a date and a place. A 50% non-refundable deposit reserves your date, and weekend dates tend to go first.
What do you need at my location?
We need a flat, open outdoor spot for the oven and a prep table, with easy access for our vehicle. If your venue has rules for outside caterers, share them with us early.
Do you only do farmers markets, or private events too?
Both. Farmers markets are where many people first taste our pizza, and we also cater weddings, company events and private parties across the Austin area.
